The process viscometer PV100-DM64 works on the principle of a rotational viscometer |
| |
with coaxial cylinder systeme. |
| |
| |
Its basic components are a measuring head and a continuous-flow measuring unit |
| |
connected by a flange sleeve. The measuring head holds the drive unit, which is either a |
| |
controllable d.c. motor or a synchronous motor, as well as the torque sensor und the |
| |
electronics producing the measuring signal. |
| |
| |
From the measuring head, the rotation is transferred through a spacer shaft to the |
| |
permanent-magnetic coupling, which is supported in the pressure-proof measuring |
| |
sleeve. The magnetic field transfers the torque through the thin-walled measuring sleeve to |
| |
the rotating measuring element. The latter is enclosed by the measuring beaker. The |
| |
measuring element is supported by low-friction pin suspensions in the measuring sleeve |
| |
and measuring cup.
| |
| |
| |
Measuring sleeve, measuring element and measuring cup form a coaxial double-slotted |
| |
cylinder measuring system. The measuring system is enlosed by the continuous-flow cell |
| |
through which the measured substance can flow in a main and a partial stream. |
| |
Due to a specific design, part of the substance flow is continuously led through the |
| |
measuring gap of the cylinder system. The viscosity-proportional torque occurring on the |
| |
measuring bob is measured in the measuring head and converted into an electric |
| |
standard current signal 4...20 mA, which can be used for display and as a control signal. |
| |
| |
The immersion measuring device is designed for use with open containers or closed |
| |
vessels up to high operating pressures. The immersion depth of measuring system is |
| |
variable within wide limits by the length of the flange sleeve. |
| |
| |
The process viscometer can be completed with an electronic unit for more functions of |
| |
instrument control, signal processing, as well as temperature adjustment of viscosity. |
